About meI was originally in practise in Bristol in 1994, working at a complimentary health centre, but relocated to Acocks Green in Birmingham in June 2002. During the mid-nineties I worked as an assistant to Paul McKenna and Michael Breen, probably two of the most well-known Hypnotists and Personal Change Consultants in the UK. I have continued to work in helping many clients overcome barriers to their future happiness, and am regularly called upon for comment as a guest on live radio at BBC Radio WM, as well as having given several press interviews. Qualifications and ExperienceAs well as being a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development, the British National Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists and the British Institute of Hypnotherapy, I have undertaken many training programmes related to therapy and hypnosis with the likes of Eric Robbie, Sid Jacobson, Judith DeLozier, Jonathan Royle, Paul McKenna, Gerald Kein, Calvin Banyan, and Richard Bandler, who are all considered experts in their respective fields. You will find my details listed on the British National Register held by the NRAH and also listed in the Register of qualified Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists. Let me say something a little controversial - too many Hypnotherapists, although well meaning, have little understanding of the nature and power of Hypnotherapy, because they may have not been trained in all approaches, or simply do not understand in great enough depth the unconscious forces at work. Every day I see so-called Hypnotherapists asking for help or advice about simple cases that they have little or no idea how to treat. This is not good enough! Many Hypnotherapists work part-time hours, seeing a few clients a week in the evening as a side job, doing what we call “suggestion hypnosis” or “relaxation therapy”. Most of the effects of these are short-lived. I saw a report recently which stated that 85% of newly qualified Hypnotherapists stay in business for less than 12 months. Dare I say that many are 'do-gooders'? Many are not experienced enough, not adequately trained, or – worse still – haven't a clue what they are doing. They take a part-time attitude and dabble around the edges because many have no background or deep understanding of the psychopathology of everyday life. Do you really want them messing with your mind? I was qualified in late 1993 and work full-time doing this work. Trying to “think” yourself better when you are in the grip of an anxiety disorder or neurosis just will not “cut it”; attempting to desensitise yourself against something will be traumatic at best, and, even if you were to be successful, the original subconscious causes will still be there, finding another way to “haunt your life”. At best it may help you control the problem; at its worst it will make the situation seem even more hopeless. So if you are going to have treatment using hypnotherapy, please choose someone who is well-established – with a proven track record – to help you. Needless to say that any client that sees me can expect to be treated in a professional manner and without judgement, working with me towards the resolution of the problem, however personal or constricting it may be. My Fee Structure How effective is what I do? A noted psychologist's comparative study of effectiveness reports in psychology and psychotherapy literature revealed that of the major therapeutic approaches, the focused trance form of hypnosis is one of the most effective (see Alfred A. Barrios, PhD, in Psychotherapy Magazine, v7n1, and in Theory, Research, and Practice, Spring 1970):
You can spend months or years in traditional psychotherapy – or you can enhance and speed up recovery for a fraction of the time and price. As you can see, there's a very good reason why hypnosis is one of the leading processes chosen by folks at the forefront of the brief therapy movement. Please call me for free information about hypnotherapy. As a full-time therapist, let me state here and now that in around 6-8 sessions, the therapy I offer provides a very deep and powerful way to uncover the sources of unhelpful emotions, behaviour or desires. The aim is then to neutralise these emotional pains and fears; to eliminate them forever, and gain escape from their vice-like grip. |
