Everything in your unconscious will seek outward manifestation . If you are considering Hypnotherapy in Birmingham, then you need to know that I have been providing Clinical Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy and other related services since 1994. Originally based in the South West, I relocated to Birmingham, where I have continued with my Therapy and Hypnosis work, offering 'one to one' support and helping people making positive changes to their life. My name is Ian Evans and I am a Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist, specialising in the treatment of Anxiety, Emotional and Psychological problems, to include panic attacks, phobias, lack of confidence, depression, anger or rage, sexual problems, eating disorders, self-harm, “stop smoking” hypnosis, weight loss, and sometimes – if appropriate – alcoholism. During the mid-nineties I worked as an assistant to Paul McKenna and Michael Breen, probably two of the most well-known Hypnotists and Personal Change Consultants in the UK. I have also appeared on National TV and BBC Radio and have treated TV soap stars, international sports people, Doctors, Surgeons, Lawyers and hundreds of everyday people at my hypnotherapy centre in Birmingham. How many people do you see each week who suffer from repeating patterns of negative self thought and/or self-destruction, harming themselves or others in the process? How many people do you know who are just trying to survive instead of truly living a happy life? There are lots, I am sure As we journey through life we experience many things, some pleasant and others not so pleasant. Some life events affect us more than we think they do and we develop characteristic ways of looking at things, and we shape our attitudes and beliefs accordingly. We use our experiences as reference points and filters to try to make sense of our lives in the present; and often these filters hamper our development. Unacknowledged upsets or traumas are like wounds that have never quite healed and may start to ‘bleed’ at any time. The Psyche will store them up and one day presents its bill in the way of some external symptom. The Psyche will be ‘heard’, it will have its say. I have already helped many people make significant steps to overcome these types of problems. I work with people to leave them feeling better about themselves, with a stronger sense of their own identity and more in control of their own life and relationships. Is this a worthwhile goal? I think it is, and that’s why I am preparing this for you to read because it could change your life for the better. To go down into our own self, to feel what we really feel, is to go through and break the tyranny of timeless emotions that haunt us. That's what coming to see me is really all about - to explore your own psyche, and to have the courage to do this – in a safe environment, knowing that it could free you from your problems and give you a happier future. If you are looking for help, only see a recognised, experienced and qualified professional. I am listed on the Register of Qualified Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists, which is produced and overseen by the British Institute of Hypnotherapy. I am also fully registered on the British National Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists. Some Letters from Clients (click to read) Using Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy for Therapeutic Change The task of combining hypnosis and therapy into what is called hypnotherapy (sometimes referred to as hypno-psychotherapy) is to help a person understand and correct patterns of unwanted behaviour and unhelpful thoughts, so that the person has a stronger sense of their own identity, is happier, and becomes more in control of their own life and relationships than they would otherwise have been. The conscious mind can analyse, rationalise, judge and understand, but the negative thoughts and emotions are still locked away, creating internal conflict, anxiety, fear, guilt, anger or sadness. These feelings bubble away under the surface and express themselves in the form of an irrational behaviour, unwanted emotion, phobia, eating disorder, panic attack or state of hyper-anxiety; the slightest little thing throws us into a rage or turmoil. None of us can be conscious all of the time, and the guilt and shame that attends many of our shortcomings erodes the strength necessary to confront the underlying issues. In order to affect change, these underpinning emotions need to be addressed. Hypnosis often allows the mind to access an experience that the conscious mind has no access to. Hypnotherapy – when done properly – is the model that facilitates true healing and gives the freedom to experience who we really are. As a full-time therapist, let me state here and now that in around 6-8 sessions, the therapy I offer provides a very deep and powerful way to uncover the sources of unhelpful emotions, behaviour or desires. The aim is then to neutralise these emotional pains and fears; to eliminate them forever, and gain escape from their vice-like grip. In my experience, my clients find dramatic improvement after just a few sessions of therapy. I can often achieve in a few weeks what other traditional therapists only aspire to in months of treatment. Hence you save time, money and make progress quicker. If you are considering hypnosis or hypnotherapy, you are assured of a totally professional service fully backed by membership of the British National Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists and The British Institute of Hypnotherapy. I am dedicated to the professional and ethical use of Hypnosis for the treatment of anxiety disorders and other emotional, psychological or psychosomatic problems.
